Our Disney Countdown Has Begun!

We are heading to Disneyland in just a few weeks! My boys are so excited and of course I get that famous question a million times per day, "How many more days until Disneyland?" Okay, maybe not a million times per day but pretty darn close.

I've seen other bloggers create some really cute Disney Countdowns. I decided to do a little search on Pinterest and I found some great ideas!

This is the chart that I decided to use. I printed from Capturing Magic. My 8 year old son noticed something was missing. Can you tell what it is?

Michelle over at ALittleTipsy has a whole list of activities that you can do with your children to get them excited for an upcoming trip. As if you need to get them more excited...right?

She has this cute countdown activity, a recipe for Mickey Oreos and Mickey pancakes!

Be sure to checkout these blogs and look through their cute ideas! If you have any other ideas that you would like to share or any Disney tips, I would love to hear them!

Disney On Ice Dare To Dream Fit For a Prince!

Disney on Ice, Dare to Dream was an amazing show. My boys were a little skeptical until they saw the show. It was definitely great for the Princess or even the Prince in your life!

The show started out in New Orleans with Tiana and Naveen. The music and the dancing took you on a journey to the French Quarter and the bayou.

The second part of the show was all about Cinderella and Prince Charming. I love how they can condense the story but still keep all of the most entertaining parts of the film. My boys have never watched Cinderella and it was great to see their faces as the story unfolded.

Rapunzel and Flynn Rider rounded out the show. They definitely saved the best for last! This portion of the show not only had the best skating but the characters used a ribbon suspended from the ceiling to do some amazing acrobatics and dancing. My boys loved this part of the show. The next day we even had to watch Tangled because they couldn't stop talking about it.

There is still time to see the show in Phoenix. The last show is on Sunday January 13th. Be sure to head over to ticketmaster.com to buy your tickets!

Cirque du Soleil #Kooza Opens In Phoenix 6/8/12!

Photo courtesy of Cirque du Soleil

I am so excited that Kooza Cirque du Soleil will be in Glendale, from June 8th to July 15th. The show can be enjoyed in an air-conditioned Grand Chapiteau (big top) located at University of Phoenix stadium. Ticket prices range from $35 to $130 and discounts are available for children, military, students and seniors.

My husband and I will be attending opening night on June 8th. This will be our first date night in more months than I can remember!

Photo courtesy of Cirque du Soleil

Here's a few facts about Kooza:

Cirque du Soleil’s big top production, KOOZA returns to North America after touring over a year in Japan. Phoenix is the first of only four U.S. cities to host this dazzling production. It is also the only West Coast city on the tour. Since its premiere in Montreal in April of 2005, KOOZA has charmed close to 4 million spectators in North America and Japan.

Written and directed by David Shiner, KOOZA is a return to the origins of Cirque du Soleil that combines two circus traditions – acrobatic performance and the art of clowning. The show highlights the physical demands of human performance in all its splendor and fragility, presented in a colorful mélange that emphasizes bold slapstick humor.

Disclosure: I was given 2 free tickets to opening night. I was not asked for anything in return. This is an informational post about an event.

Disney's Toy Story 3 On Ice Was Amazing!

This past Wednesday, my family attended Disney's Toy Story 3 on Ice! We had never been to an ice show and we weren't quite sure what to expect.

My boys are 7 and 4 and they were completely entertained, from start to finish. The skaters all had amazing costumes on and really tried to engage with the audience.

I must say, that out of all the characters, Barbie and Ken stole the show! When they spotted one another, across the ice, the crown erupted in cheers. Ken even tried on some of his classic outfits for Barbie.

Also, when it came to doing stunts, Barbie and Ken did an amazing job. It was like watching Olympic figure skating!

Review: PlayGrounds Fun Zone & Cafe!

My family was invited to check out a new indoor play area, for kids. PlayGrounds Fun Zone & Cafe is located near 83rd avenue and Union Hills, in Glendale.

PlayGrounds had plenty to keep my 7 and 4 year old busy. Everytime I looked up they were scurrying back to this spot. They just kept waving and smiling. I new they were having fun because they weren't fighting!

The boys loved this double slide. It gave them a chance to race each other. Boys can be so competitive!

After about an hour, they worked up quite an appetite. The food coming from the cafe looked so good! I have never seen an indoor play area where you can order food and let your kids play, at the same time. There was plenty of tables to sit at and they even had super comfy leather couches!

You can order sandwiches, wraps salads and even gourmet coffee drinks! The cafe menu can be viewed HERE. Everything is made from scratch, including the Uh-May-Zing cinnamon rolls!

The cinnamon roll didn't last long, at all. Noah likes to think of himself as a cinnamon roll connoisseur. He let me know that these cinnamon rolls were better than the ones you can buy at the mall!

For those of you with toddlers, not to worry! You won't have to worry about your little ones being trampled by the older kids. There is a section dedicated to kiddos, 48" and shorter. When my boys were younger, they loved playing on the toys at the mall. We would usually be there about 5 minutes before they were knocked down by a group of 10 year olds that were obviously to big to be there. It drove me crazy! So, it was nice to see this space, just for the toddlers.

I would definitely recommend PlayGrounds! The price to get in is $8 for the first child, $2 off for each sibling and parents play FREE! I can tell you, when it is the middle of summer, this place will be hopping!

Please stop by PlayGrounds and check it out, for yourself. I am confident that you will not be disappointed. You can also head over and check out their Facebook Page! Be sure to let them know that Arizona Thrifty Mom sent you.

Disclosure: I was given free entrance to PlayGrounds for my two boys. In exchange, I have given my opinion in a blog post and 100% honest review.

Arizona Celebration Of Lights!

My family and I were invited to view a really great Christmas light display. It is called Arizona Celebration of Lights!

Every year we dirve all ovet town and search for beautiful Christmas lights. We use a ton of gas and usually end up pretty disappointed.

If you've ever experienced this, I highly recommend Arizona Celebration of Lights. You can drive through 1.5 miles of light disaplays, all in one place. The cost is $15 per vehicle, but, you will save on gas and a portion of your admission goes to charity! (St. Mary's Food Bank, The Salvation Army & The Ronald McDonald House)

The Arizona Celebration of Lights is conveniently located at the I-17/101 in West Phoenix. You can go HERE and get the exact location and directions. If you would like to purchase tickets ahead of time you can go HERE. Keep in mind that prices are a little bit higher on the weekends and you can get a $2 discount by bringing 3 canned food items for St. Mary's Food Bank.

*Disclosure - My family was given free admission to view the Arizona Celebration of Lights. All opinions are 100% mine.
